Unfurl Love’s Banner

Unfurl Love’s banner

Christ’s heart, sore world would cover

Redeem and heal lives

We are God’s hands, messengers

No Empty Jar

https://sundaywhirl.wordpress.com/2017/06/03/wordle-302/

Of God’s mercy, there is no end—

His nature is long-suffering.

Much as His children miss the mark,

We can’t wear rejection’s groove in

His patient Love; there’s no space

Between His heart and ours—no

Distance separates from His embrace*.

Never for His own, is there an

Empty jar, mere dregs to spend.

To give us Heart’s gift, grace,

He spared no cost; paid more than

King’s ransom, as He watched

His Son sigh last breath on cross—

Before death, grave, then

Victory’s resurrection.

All this He offered willingly,

That we might be forever free.

No flighty promise, His covenant

Signed with Christ’s own blood—

It binds with crimson cord

Indestructible, those He calls

Everlastingly.

More than Conquerors  Romans 8:37-39*
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.…

No Illusion

None will persuade me

Faith in God Who embraces

Is mere illusion

Buried heart resurrected

Power undeniable

Broken Wheel Thoughts

https://sundaywhirl.wordpress.com/

Echo of a broken wheel

About to fall completely apart

Sounds like an off-key whistle

Going on and on… Gnaws loose

Threads knotting in my head;

Thoughts quick-unraveling,

For harsh-barbed words ring

True, though they’re hateful lies.

~

Fingertips touch, trace

The crimson cord which

Binds body, soul, mind:

Verses in red, Bible Truth

Prints God’s love promises

On my heart.

Tears In a Bottle

Lord,

You save my tears in a bottle*,

They are important to You.

Even when I was unaware,

You’ve been present for my

Seasons of sorrow, days

Of tossing, wanderings.

I need no answer to “why” You

Don’t prevent small unkindness, nor

Wounds from cruel words, deceits,

Egregious acts, vicious betrayals.

I’m old enough in faith that such questions

Matter less than they once did; for I’m

Secure and certain about Who You Are,

And who I am “in Christ”.

It is sufficient to know I’m

Your beloved daughter—

No longer an outcast;

That for now, I see as through

A glass darkly—because Faith

Itself is an exquisite mystery.

Your love is sweeter than any

Earthly nectar…perhaps when

We meet at last You will pour

From that bottle of my tears, and

I will taste, discover the flavor sublime.

For the distillation will be complete:

All pain from the tears gone,

Only glory’s eternal joy remaining ~

Oh Father, that happy day.

*New Living Translation
You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.  Psalm 56:8

God’s Everyday Valentine

I’ll love you when no one seems to…and you can’t even bear yourself.

I’ll know you when nobody “gets” you—we’re on the same page together.

I’ll be there when your best isn’t good enough; and when your worst defies polite description.

I’ll laugh with you—yes, I have a sense of humor.

I’m interested in your thoughts, feelings, dreams, passions and projects…when everyone else is too busy, or doesn’t care.

I’ll travel as many miles and years as it takes to find you when you’re lost and confused.

I’ll rebuild what’s broken in your heart, life—remember, I started out as a carpenter.

I’m a fortress for you to run into—I’ll protect you; I’ll be your high ground when you’re drowning.

I’m the eternal nightlight when you’re certain the darkness will go on forever.

I’m sweet nectar—grace, mercy, joy—when life goes sour.

I’m the oasis, the living wellspring when your heart is a Sahara Desert of dried up relationships.

I’m the Holy Spirit’s cool breeze when anger melts your good sense—or someone’s rage has left you in ashes; and I’m His flame to warm you when you feel frozen out.

I’m strong shoulders to carry your burdens, so pile ’em on Me.

My heart will always pillow your weeping…you’re never alone, I’m here.

I promise I’ll hold you with the intimate ecstasy of no other lover.

You’re my Valentine…love, Jesus
